I’m Paul Bryant, an equity research analyst for FCA-regulated Equity Development. I cover London-listed financial services companies with a specialism in asset & wealth management.
Before becoming an analyst, I spent 20 years working in the financials sector:
- Senior dealmaker for a multi-national insurance group, sourcing, analysing and executing strategic equity transactions in smaller private businesses. I also served as a non‑executive director in several of these companies.
- Co-founded and was managing director of a successful insurance underwriting agency, which was later acquired by a large insurance group.
- Consultant at McKinsey during the Dotcom boom and bust (a fascinating introduction to valuations!).
- Specialist engineering insurance underwriter for a global reinsurer, following an early-career period as an engineer in the construction and consulting engineering industries.
- BSC Engineering (Civil); MBL (Masters in Business Leadership).
